What do you do every day?
I go to work at around 6:30am. Between 7am-8am I lecture residents/fellows. I see patients from 8am - 4pm. I complete any paperwork and then go home to see my children, eat dinner and get kids to bed. I end my day by reading papers, answering e-mails and preparing materials before I go to sleep.
Why do you love it?
It is exciting and diverse. There is never a dull moment in the day and the day flies while having fun.
What were your moments of fear and challenges in your career?
There are challenges every day, every minute; no matter how experienced you are and how much knowledge you have. Every patient is truly different, you may never be sure how a patient may react to your block or your medical management. You need to be on the edge all the time.
What are some of the latest innovations in science that you are most excited about?
Gene therapy application in pain management is something that is in infancy but may prove very useful in the near future.

Bucharest, Romania
Who was your favorite teacher and why?
My biochemistry teacher in high school; strict, methodic, challenging and sometimes nice.

Thoughts of everyday life, nice scenes, nice weather, and the sun.
