What do you do every day?
I am the Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations for Endo International, a branded specialty and generic pharmaceutical company and am responsible for leading Endo’s Investor Relations and Corporate Affairs teams, including internal communications and engagement, as well as corporate communications, branding and public relations. Previously, I worked at Quest Diagnostics for over 23 years in a variety of roles, most recently as the Vice President, Customer Experience.
Why do you love it?
I love the opportunity to tell our story to all stakeholders, investors, customers, patients, employees, and more. This is a fast paced and constantly changing role. All elements of a company pass through corporate affairs and investor relations.
What were your moments of fear and challenges in your career?
The biggest challenge in my career were the points when I accepted stretch roles that moved me not just into bigger roles, but also had me leading areas that were beyond my prior experiences. I especially loved the opportunity to build new capabilities and functions, such as defining Customer Experience for Quest.
What are some of the latest innovations in science that you are most excited about?
The advances in health care, from diagnostics to therapeutics and technology, are very exciting. We are able to learn much about us individually that is truly making it possible to customize protocols to the individual.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up on a farm in North Dakota.
Who was your favorite teacher and why?
I loved my English teacher, who was also my speech & drama coach. She gave me the confidence to fly high.
What is your unique talent?
I have a great memory of trivia.
Tell us about your personal style.
I integrate my personal and work lives, bringing my whole self to work. While I may dive deep as I begin working with someone, I like to give my team room to work through issues on their own.
Is there a current book or book you love?
Two books I really enjoyed in 2018 were Educated by Tara Westover and We Were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter. Both inspired me by their stories of strength and resilience.
What is your favorite website or fun activity?
I love to ride my Peloton, read a book or catch up with Netflix.
Who inspires you?
I am inspired by young girls around the world that are putting themselves in danger to get an education.
What’s next for you?
I don't know what is next for me. My philosophy is "yes, and..." when presented with a challenge. My litmus test is always, "is it worth the time away from my family?"
