Where did you grow up?

GuangZhou China -> Kentucky USA

Who was your favorite teacher, and why?

My science teacher in middle school because she stood up for me when I was being bullied for being different and grew up in another country.

What inspired you to pursue a career in STEM/Healthcare?

I’ve always had a love for plants and was mesmerized by medicine (mostly plant-based and raw ingredient-based) as a child. Some of my favorite subjects in school included biology, anatomy, and microbiology. Combining plants, science, and my love for interacting with people, I decided to pursue healthcare.

What do you do in your current role/career?

I support our marketing team as a pharmacy resource for all hospital pharmacy leaders to help decrease drug waste and drug diversion through a portfolio of ready-to-administer injectable drugs.

What were your moments of fear/challenges in your career?

I felt anxious whenever I felt like my job was starting to become stagnant. One major challenge I’ve overcome in my career is to understand and accept that people move at different paces when it comes to change, and we must work together while respecting people’s different perspectives and priorities.

What are some of the innovations in science that you are most excited about?

I think the electronic medical record and the integration between various health care technology tools have come a long way. I am excited to see how we will further leverage the use of technology to increase safety and efficiency in healthcare.

What’s next for you?/What would you like to do when you “grow up’? (retire, etc.)/What is something you hope to accomplish in the future?

I would like to give back to this world and my community by helping other people to believe in their potential to achieve great things in life, that despite the card you’ve been dealt, you are capable to overcome the challenges and achieve your dreams.

Personal style/fashion tip?

Comfort and simplicity, and always be authentic!
