Where did you grow up?
Phoenix, AZ
Who was your favorite teacher, and why?
Glenda Rauscher – she was an English teacher who shared her love of learning and losing yourself in beautiful words
What inspired you to pursue a career in STEM/Healthcare?
My good friend from college inspired me to take a genetics class with her, and her interest excited me.
What do you do in your current role/career?
I help scientists plan complex experiments for clinical trials and drug development.
What were your moments of fear/challenges in your career?
I was really nervous when I decided to get my doctorate. I was worried that I couldn't do it. I also was worried when I took my current job because I worried that I wouldn't make a difference.
What are some of the innovations in science that you are most excited about?
The ability to track how therapies are impacting individual cells in a tumor. This is a step toward understanding how to target different cancers.
What’s next for you?/What would you like to do when you “grow up’? (retire, etc.)/ what is something you hope to accomplish in the future?
I am really interested in expanding what I do beyond the lab. I would like to work with medical anthropologists to try to help with keeping the unhoused healthier and finding them homes.

Boho! I love boho clothes and don’t wear boho enough.
