Who was your favorite teacher, and why?
2 teachers come to mind
My Math teacher in high school who encouraged me, pushed me to greater heights
My Physics teacher whose enthusiasm and passion for atoms ignited a lifelong interest and curiosity in nuclear and astrophysics
What inspired you to pursue a career in STEM/Healthcare?
Deep curiosity and interest led me to pursue and degree in Physics, Math and Computer Science. After a few years of working in different industries, I got started working with a company that helped Pharmas and Medtech companies bring new drugs, devices and medicines. I felt very happy doing this work as it gave me a purpose and fulfillment.
What do you do in your current role/career?
I am responsible for developing digital products that are used in conducting clinical trials.
What were your moments of fear/challenges in your career?
Some early challenges were around balancing career and family. Was torn between being a mother and advancement in career. Talking to other women helped a lot.
What are some of the innovations in science that you are most excited about?
Very excited about cell and gene therapy/precision medicine
Advancements in learning about universe, space travel
What’s next for you?/What would you like to do when you “grow up’? (retire, etc.)/ what is something you hope to accomplish in the future?
My main goal for the next 10 years is to help 5000 women achieve financial independence.
